A member asked:

For someone with unilateral deafness, does the implant go behind the impaired ear or the normal one?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Impaired ear: If you are talking about a bone anchored hearing aid, the implant or magnet is placed in the bone behind the ear that has no or little hearing. The sound travels by bone conduction to the normal ear and you will have the perception of sound and voices coming into the impaired ear.
