A member asked:

Is 12 considered below the normal range for a vit d blood test result for a 48 yr woman ? could this be a serious deficiency w/complication?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Too low: Rather than ask, "Serious?" -- please address this. It may be hard to get enough sunlight in the northern US in winter, and it's time to ask your physician about diet (worth considering -- fortified foods or the few that are naturally rich) and/or supplementing (easier). I'm glad this was detected. You may find you feel MUCH better once this is addressed.
