A member asked:

I had a blood test last month & it showed that the normal range for calcium is 8.9-10.3. my level was at 8.9 is that considered deficient since its just barely on the right level? would this level be the cause for some extreme tiredness some days?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, while you are unlikely to be deficient you may wish to take Vitamin D3, 2000 units/day and over the counter calcium supplement for long term bone health. Wish you good health!
