Cyst vs lymph node: Perhaps you have an infected cyst, ingrown hair, possibly an abscess (pus pocket). Regardless, go see your family doc for an evaluation to determine which is which because it's hard & swollen for last month. Your family doc may recommend antibiotics or lancing/draining depending upon examination. In the meantime, warm compresses are useful for infections while cold packs are used for injuries.
