A member asked:

The tip of my tongue is red and raised and it feels like a burning sensation. it's been more than two weeks and i still have it; could it be cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not cancer: Cancer of the tongue is a result of smoking and drinking, presenting as an ulcerating lesion on the side of the tongue or posteriorly. It is not red, usually arising as leukoplaia. A red area on the tip of the tongue that is tender is most often and inflammed taste bud which should subside on its own.
