Positive 12 steps: First you need to attend meetings consistently. Then you pick a sponsor and work with them. Once you are ready can can sponsor(volunteer). It takes time to ripen. My sponsor(master co) says "growth takes time, effort and lots of dumb mistakes" try to have weekly meeting and be consistent. Learn more at http://positive12steps.Org.

Not exactly sure : What you mean by volunteer. Another physician discussed becoming a sponsor. However, it doesn't tend to be like a soup kitchen where there are always lots of jobs for volunteers. If you are an alcoholic, attend meetings and you will find ways to help out.
