Get seen by a doctor: Pain radiating from the back to the groin occurs in many cases of kidney stones. On pain meds/anti-inflammatories, the pain may be masked to some degree, as may fever if you have a urinary tract infection also. Particularly given the diagnosis of diabetes, it is very important to get seen for this symptom.

See pain management: This type of condition can be severe and debilitating. Once a proper diagnosis has been made, effective management involves three specific strategies: 1) patient education, 2) non-pharmacological management (e.g. acupuncture, CBT), and 3) pharmacological (medical) management. See an interventional pain specialist for evaluation and professional management.
