Not really: There are dozens of strains of HPV and several are responsible for warts, while others can be precursors of cancer. The warts are a cosmetic problem but do not morph into cancer. However, the activity that passed the strain that gives you warts, could pass another strain that can eventually set you up for cancer. Regular pap smears can identify the related issues early.

No: Warts are caused by one of the HPViruses that do not cause cancer (ueually HPV 6 or 11). Either way, most HPV infections do not lead to cancer. A few, like HPV16 and 18, are associated with precancerous lesions and if not attended to, squamous cancer
