Can take months: The swelling in your cheeks comes form irritation of the parotid glands from the stomach acid. Staying well hydrated and continuing to not purge will help the parotid glands return to normal. Gentle massage of the glands may also help. You need to be patient and seek treatment for the bulimia. There is not usually any permanent damage but it can take many months to return to normal.
