High WBC: high WBC count indication the presence of infection, whether viral or bacterial. Ask to check the urine to make sure there is no urinary tract infection. Also, ask for chest X-ray to make sure there is no walking pneumonia

Vamox: What prompted the visit to the doctor in the first place? A white blood cell count that is elevated can signal infection, but by itself cannot diagnose any illness. Your doctor may have suspected a bacterial illness without significant physical proof and thought that it was safer to treat an infection than to ignore laboratory findings. Please ask the doctor so that you are more informed.
