Take some decongestants like Sudafed: The opening of the eustachian tube is high up in the back of the throat at the level of the back of the nose. If you have a cold or a bad allergy eustachian tube can be somewhat sluggish and opening. It can vary from side to side because we are not actually symmetric. Usually the eustachian tube dysfunction does not resolve quickly
