I had disc herniation surgery oct 22nd on my back....im having swelling & still not able to sit for long periods..is this normal?

Most disc surgeries: Recover with minimal symptoms but about 10% (more if preop you had = or greater back pain than leg pain) can go on to have back pain due to further dysfunction of the disc. There is a small chance of post op infection as well but there are usually other symptoms such as fever, chills &sweats as well as increasing back pain & spasm. Talk to your physician & see if you need evaluation, PT/meds
