Very unlikely. The -: only possibility, I can think of resulting in Black Toenail would be from a bad circulation or vasculitis, which may occur as an Associated problem, nothing to do specifically with Gout. Recommend see your PCP to be investigated, as you don't want a black coloration at all. Most common cause for black nails would be a injury with bleeding under the nail and a few weeks it looks black. Good luck.

Unlikely: Gout manifest as a very severe inflammatory arthritis affecting mostly lower extremity joints, can showed signs of inflammation on the skin, looks red and very tender to touch but does not affect the toenails with black discoloration, you should see a podiatrist or dermatologist for evaluation and treatment. Sometimes black discoloration is seen after trauma, sports, running.
