Tooth ache, pain med: Obviously, pain is a signal 'something is wrong' so a toothache says 'its time to see the dentist' to get the proper treatment. Until then you can take over-the-counter tylenol (acetaminophen) (max is 3000mg/day). You may add Aleve (200mg) take 2 , twice a day. You can go to an urgent care and they can prescibe a small quantity of narcotic pain meds (e.g.Hydrocodone, oxycodone) and Amoxicillin if infection seen.

See dentist: Ibuprofen is a common NSAID that is used often for tooth pain. Tylenol (acetaminophen) can also be used. For a more natural approach you can try cloves which have a natural numbing effect. The best choice though would be to visit your dentist to have the source of the pain diagnosed and treated.

Get it fixed: Until you can get to your dentist, start taking an anti-inflammatory like advil (ibuprofen). You can probably take 600mg every 6 hours. If this doesn't do much you will also need to get on an antibiotic, like Amoxicillin or erythromycin. But these will not fix your problem, they may make it manageable until you can make if to your dentist.
