Speak to your: doctor. Are you also on an antibiotic? For an acute ear infection, if a doctor prescribes an antibiotic, it is always important to finish it unless you're having an allergic reaction. It's not clear to me why you're on the steroid, unless you've had chronic fluid in your ear. The steroid doesn't treat the infection itself. Please discuss this with your doctor.
