A member asked:

If mrsa is living in your nose (carrier), how does it not get into your lungs and give you pneumonia? what is mode of entry for mrsa pneumonia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRSA: Many of the organisms populating your nose and throat have the potential to produce pneumonia, but you have many defense mechanisms that prevent this. It is not until these mechanisms are compromised or the number of organisms is overwhelming that they will produce clinically relevant disease.
