How long for a lower dose of levothyroxine to take effect?

Levothyroxine: If your current dose of levothyroxine is causing you to have a high thyroid level and getting symptoms I suggest you stop for a day or two and then re-start with half the original dose. To be sure you should have your doctor check your thyroid levels every three to six months.
