Benadryl (diphenhydramine) & see a doc: If the rash is bad, and especially if there is pus coming out, you should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible. In the meantime, otc Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (25-50mg every 4-6hrs for an adult) can relieve itching and swelling, but may make you feel sleepy, so be careful driving, etc.
