Don't worry: Hi. I always check a PTH before starting Forteo (among other labs too). But Forteo is NOT a bone cancer risk in humans. If you're had therapeutic radiation to the skeleton, it should usually be avoided to be on the cautious side. But we have patients with constitutively elevated PTH for years (even decades), and they DON't get osteosarcoma. In appropriate patients, Forteo is the best for osteoporo
