Precordial catch: This is a more common than discussed, sharp pain the origin of which is not known. It occurs in the chest wall and may represent a nerve pinch or muscle pinch in certain chest positions. The usual best way to get rid of it is to grit your teeth and take the deepest possible breath which will enhance the pain a second but usually gets rid of it.
