Sore tender lymph node in back of neck for almost two weeks, mild neck pain,off & on headache. no fever, night sweats, nausea, vomiting, weight loss.

Inflammatory: Malignant nodal disease from oral cavity spreads to anterior neck. Other tumors are found in nodes along jugular chain. Posterior neck most often drains hairline or lesions posterior scalp. Check to see if infection skin lesion present and use warm soaks to treat. This should resolve presence of sore nodes. Antibiotics rarely needed.
