My friend is severely depressed, he takes antidepressants but other than that he doesn't see a psychiatrist. is there anything i can do to help him?

Dr. John Moranville answered

Support: You can be an emotional support, but more importantly encourage him to see a psychiatrist and/or therapist or at least see the doctor who prescribed the antidepressant. He may need dose adjusted or another med. Therapy can also help. CBT has been shown to be as beneficial as meds and combo is even better
