Soon : we will all understand about variations in FM trigger points. These C fibers respond to pressure but also temperature. Not everybody has similar response to trigger point pressure. In fibro, the pituitary adrenal axis is working overtime with increase in cortisol levels. A lot of energy is spent, giving you that fatigue and malaise that feels like flu.

Muscle aches: There are a variety of suggestions. People have a lower pain threshold and feel pain more easily. Another finding is that functional brain MRI's show more activity suggesting the brain is more active and feels more pain for any stimulus and this augmentation is called allodynia. The muscle pain can be augmented by muscle deconditioning - thus the reason you need to exercise.
