Should you avoid brusning your teeth with braces after each meal?

Au contraire: You should embrace brushing your teeth after every meal especially when wearing braces because all the additional surface area of the hardware and the nooks and crannies between and under the brackets and wires. Exception to this rule is that you should wait 30 minutes after drinking soda to brush because the acid temporarily weakens the enamel surface but even in that case, rinse!

Good Oral Hygiene: Adjusting to life with braces means you must take good care of your teeth, and your braces. Brush around all the parts of your braces and every surface of your teeth. Also brush your tongue and the roof of your mouth. This should take 2-3 minutes.
