Alopecia: Alopecia areata is a skin condition that can result in severe loss of hair. We do not usually use the categories listed in your question but rather just refer to the % of hair loss. It is treated with steroids, topical or injected in the lesions or with topical immunotherapy that must be administered by a dermatologist.
