A member asked:

By the looks of it, i have proximal subungual onychomycosis on a toe of a foot that has neuropathy. what do i do about it? it really hurts.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unfortunately, : A diagnosis of onychomycosis can't be made by "looks" as bacterial colonization, subungual keratinazation both have identical looks. The diagnosis can be made by mycology specimen either KOH prep or pathology with PAS stain etc.... Once dx is confirmed then you can treat...topical vs oral vs laser would be your choices.
