When you can't drink: In healthy people, vomiting for 24-48 hours can be treated at home by drinking small amounts of liquids at frequent intervals. Try gingerale. Warning signs to see a doctor: Feeling dizzy, blood or dark coffee grounds in your vomit, severe abdominal pain or fever, or failure to make urine. If your vomiting has not slowed down or improved after 48 hours, it's also time to see a doctor.
