Cholesteatoma: Cholesteatoma is a type of skin cyst located in the middle ear and mastoid bone in your skull. Neither structure is near your impacted wisdom tooth. It's pretty safe to say you should call an oral surgeon for an appointment... if you are in a lot of pain and swollen, the tooth probably has to be extracted.
