Facial pain: Several possible causes of this type of pain should be considered. there are lymph nodes in that area which may be inflamed while fighting infection. Tooth problems of all sorts, gum infections too, consider a visit to your dentist ASAP. TMJ dysfunction is a problem with the joint of the jaw and would typically cause worse pain with chewing. Shingles can cause pain on one side of the face, too
