Low BP maybe: Since both propranolol & citalopram are metabolized by similar liver enzymes, propranolol may built up in the body and lead to low blood pressure. This is rarely encountered in clinical practice but possible. A lower dose or a different medication in the same class may resolve the problem. Symptoms are more important than numbers. A higher pulse pressure is usually noted with valve problems.
