Lower BP & HR: Prporanolol is a medication belonging to a family called beta blockers. They decrease heart rate and lower systolic blood pressure. It is a beneficial medication used for people with hypertension. After a heart valve replacement it is common to have this med on board. I'm assuming the cause to your failing heart valve was at least in part due to high blood pressure.
