Fever: How did you take the temp? If this is not rectal you have to add another 0.7 degrees (if oral or ear) and so pt has a fever because temp greater than 38. You can give antipyretics for comfort. If drinking well, no respiratory issues, good energy level, then wait a couple of days before bringing to the doctor

Where measured: It depends on where you measured it. The gold standard for temperature measurement is in his bottom until he can properly use an oral thermometer. A normal rectal temperature is up to 37.5. All the best with temperature taking.
