Preventives: Budesonide is an inhaled steroid and it is a preventive medicine. Singulair (montelukast) is a " leukotriene inhibitor" it is also a preventive for seasonal asthma ( and allergic rhinitis and eczema) Taking these meds daily can prevent the need to use rescue medications ( like albuterol)
