No: After the blisters have broken spontaneously, they dry up, crust and heal within 7-10 days. There is no cure for cold sores. However, some medications may relieve pain and soften HSV crusts on the skin (e.g. pencyclovir cream).

Ulcer or abscess ?: Either way, it does not help. If an ulcer, it will heal on its own in 10 to 14 days. If an abscess, you need to see a dentist to have it evaluated and treated.
