A member asked:

I ripped my lips in one spot so now when it is dry, it hardens up in a concave shape. what should i do?

Moisturize: It sounds like you need to keep things moist as you heal. The lip heals very quickly, so if you just keep it moist until the surface heals, your lip will be fine. I think what you are describing is a scab - when the lip surface starts to heal, it tends to contract inward and harden in a concave pattern. It then falls off in a while, leaving soft healthy tissue underneath. Chapstick to moisturize.
