I : I would recommend that you have this area examined by your primary care physician and/or dermatologist. Recurring areas of dry scaling on an area of skin, including the lip, should be evaluated for the possibility of having an underlying skin cancer versus a precancerous skin lesion or other common, benign condition. Unfortunately, there really is no way to know for sure without seeing your physician.
