What's the cause?: Going to the ER is frustrating when you feel you do not have the answer. But it is important to evaluate for emergencies there, and if they do not think you have one, it may be safe to go home without a final answer. Facial numbness is a tough symptom to evaluate. If it lasts more than a day, a brain MRI may be a helpful next step in the evaluation.
