When they remove the prostate in surgery why doesn't the surgeon put the sling in to support the urethea to prevent urinary leakage?

Not always needed: That's a great question! Incontinence rates with a skilled surgeon are quite low and therefore not everyone needs a sling. Also, the incision for the sling is usually in a different spot and can easily be done later as an outpatient surgery.
