Should be ok...: Ashwagandha is frequently referred to as "Indian ginseng" and is an herb used in Ayurvedic healing. It belongs to the tomato family. It purports to relieve stress and promote good immunity. It reportedly interacts with immunosuppressant and sedating medications, not the anti-hypertensives you are taking. It should be safe to take, though as with all supplements, unproven as regards effectiveness.

Probably yes: According to Medscape's drug interaction section, no interactions between your medications and ashwagandha. However, I always advise patients to be alert to any possible side effects when starting herbal medications, even if no drug interactions have been reported.

Don't know: You are taking potent but safe drugs that have met the test of time. Not knowing the total ingredients contained in Ashwagandha and how they might react with your Ramipril & Amlodipine I would strongly advise you not to take that medication. If the two prescription medications are not working then talk to your physician about maybe changing the dose. Don't take unneeded chances with your life.
