A member asked:

B-12 intrinsic antibody blocking test is negative, i eat lots of meat so why is my b-12 low?

Many possibilities: A single lowball value may be a lab error. If you're just below the reference range, remember it's set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end. Mild malabsorption from whatever cause, salivary or pancreatic insufficiency, a bit of terminal ileitis or something else in the distal ileum, or an antibody of your own that interferes with your assay. Glad it was detected.
