Balanced diet: Meat is not essential for a good diet. A diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains and dairy will provide adequate nutrition. To increase protein in your diet you should add tofu, beans, nuts and egg whites. I trust that you are taking pre-natal vitamins, if you were not taking these, do so asap. Keep your appointments with your OB for pre-natal checks.

Yes: You can eat fish, fowl, eggs are a good source of protein. If pregnant, try to get a well rounded diet that includes, fish, fowl, dairy, nuts, legumes, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. The more well rounded your diet is, the more likely you are to get the nutrients you need from the different foods you eat.
