Unlikely: Most likely they are benign adenomas. Your doctor may follow them with repeat sonos if their imaging characteristics did not suggest malignancy. Possible there may be a needle biopsy done under local anesthesia.

See NYT: There was a great article in the NY Times recently. Nodules are usually benign at your age. However, somebody obtained thyroid images. Now it would make sense to obtain needle biopsies to make sure there is nothing to worry about. Discuss with a thyroid specialist if the biopsies show anything unusual. The biopsies are not a big deal and are performed as an outpatient.
