A member asked:

Some say being a vegan/vegetarian makes one healthier and immune to many different diseases. is there any real proof for that? should one avoid meat?

Two loaded questions: depends who you speak to as these are controversial topics. Proteins are important to cellular function. How that 25 g of protein or amino acids get there depends on your penchant for eating mostly vegetable proteins, combined with grains/brown rice, or eating fish/animal proteins, or eggs. It doesn't take much to get that amount of protein in every meal.
