A member asked:

Why do they put aspartame and bisphenol a in our food and fluoride in our water? do our bodies need these things?

Chemicals: There are a number of chemicals in our foods and environment. The effects of all of these are not well studied or well known. But Bispnenol a and aspartame have evidence showing that they can cause adverse health effects. Our bodies do not need these. However fluoride does prevent tooth decay and it is an important ingredient in out toothpaste.

Fluoride: I would agree with your food additives questions. However, I believe that the benefits to the community outweigh any risks. The benefits of water fluoridation on the oral health has been documented on several scientific studies. The meager cost to fluoridate is worth the taxes spent.
