Which type of doctor treats sciatica/tarsal tunnel syndrome?

Dr. Grace Torres-hodges answered

Specializes in Podiatry

See the podiatrist: The routes for the foot stem from L4, L5 and S1 which form the sciatic nerve. If the nerve is irritated, it can cause discomfort - sciatica or tarsal tunnel syndrome. A proper evaluation and workup is necessary to examine other structures and provide appropriate treatment. If there is no origin of compression in the tarsal tunnel, a referral to a back specialist may be made.
