MRI: An MRI of brain with and without contrast can be very diagnostic, but often MRI of neck added in ambiguous cases. The lumbar puncture certainly can be confirmatory, especially with elevated oligoclonal bands, but often is not necessary if other studies are convincing. We very rarely use evoked potentials these days, but might also assist in some cases.
