Follow doctor advice: I hope you're not self-diagnosing or recommending your own diagnostic workup. If you are not satisfied with your present physician's advice (none of us is perfect) you should seek out another expert in this area, not self-direct your testing/diagnosis (even if you are a physician yourself). The doctor who treats him/herself has a fool for a patient! sometimes symptoms have no easy "answer!".

Reassuring: Your negative MRI's and your other tests should be reassuring, but sounds like you have a peripheral neuropathy, which might explain many of your issues. Lumbar puncture may be useful for some inflammatory nerve problems, and can help confirm MS, but may not be very helpful for you, based on your issues. Discuss with neurologist.
