Multiple projects: Since we possess, but one agent, Riluzole, we do need successful interventions. Research is focusing on stem cells, drugs which can inhibit nerve cell death, vaccines, immunological injections, BUT the big issue is why the sporadic form of ALS occurs, and once that is answered, our therapies will become far more effective.
