It is common: Vaccines often cause local skin reactions around the site of injection. Local reactions to vaccines include soreness, swelling, redness, rash, and increased warmth. Applying ice or giving Tylenol (acetaminophen) by mouth may relieve any associated discomfort. Local reactions to vaccines usually resolve in a few days. It is a good idea to report this reaction to the baby's doctor at next appointment.
