What is the difference between an infra- and supratentorial lesion?

One explanation -: Normally this equates to a level of the nervous system- supra= above the ears (approximately) or infra=below. The tentorium cerebelli separates the cerebrum (the popular, highly functional part of the brain) from the cerebellum, brain stem and spinal cord (the old fashioned, simple, automatic? parts). Sometimes supratentorial is a term used to describe unexplained or imagined symptoms.
